Calling Wellness into Being

Why am I dedicated to the topic of wellness and spirituality? To be brief, I believe there is too much complaining and not enough changing. I assert, that this is so for good reasons - underutilization of resources, and of course, need for increased motivation and support. What is truly wanting is total self-commitment. So, at this time, this is enough said.
Moving forward; at retirement age, this is not a last-ditch effort for me, but a serious undertaking to move toward ultimate quality of life enhancements.
Know it, it’s not gloom and doom, but I am for real, seeing Spirit, at the proverbial “lumination” at the end of the tunnel. As an experienced Health Educator and now Spiritual Director, naturally, I must speak to body, mind and spirit allegiances.
For decades I taught that self-improvement concerns ought to be married to positive self-talk, another way of saying “affirmations”. As I work toward accomplishments, I must always include affirmations; what I believe, I conceive.
Suggested by its word root, “firm”, meaning fixed, an affirmation is something that is unchanging or the truth. Sometimes, you can make questionable things true when you “act as if” * they are true. For those of us who are no strangers to the rooms of twelve-step programs, we are familiar with this term. We have come to believe that life-style changes are actualized, especially when striving to maintain positive thinking and abstinence.
When self-improvement endeavors include five essential things, God, prayer, affirmations, other likeminded souls and consistency, the results are not only promising, but can be phenomenal.
Once again, it can be said, “act as if” is synonymous with affirmation.
So, there it is. This sounds very much like what could be the beginning
of quite a significant journey.
* Act as if means that if you want something, you must act as if you alread
y have it in order to get it. So, if you want to be healthy, you must act as
if you are already healthy.
If you want some new friends, you must act as if you already them.
