Generally speaking, for the sake of understanding and discussion, the aspects of wellness can be categorized into five dimensions.

Upon close examination it can be observed that these dimensions, while individually distinct, overlap and are interrelated - body, mind, and spirit each integrates with the others.

While spirituality is also a dimension, it has major significance because of its overall influence on human beings who strive to engage quality of life interests.

The Five Dimensions of Wellness are: Emotional, Social, Intellectual, Spiritual and Physical.

1.  Emotional Wellness includes experiences related to      joy, sorrow, fear, hate, love and other meaningful feelings. The Spiritual Dimension is the platform upon which all of the devotionals rest.

2.  Social Wellness involves relating to others, communication, companionship, community, and

ability to form satisfying interpersonal relationships.

3.  Intellectual Wellness is related to the ability to learn, grow from life experience, and utilize mental capabilities.

4.  Spiritual Wellness involves a consciousness of mind, such as thoughts of existence, and cannot be defined as part of the body or as part of the mind.

5.  Physical Wellness is defined as the condition of the body, taking into consideration, everything, from compromised health to optimal fitness.
